Kern # 5 in U.S Private Sector Job Growth

onNumbersHeader_smKern County had the fifth highest rate of private sector job growth among the nation’s largest metro areas, and the highest in California, according to a recent analysis by The Business Journals.

Each market”s score was determined by a six-part formula and the latest federal statistics was used to analyze small-business climates in the top 101 metros across America.  Part of that analysis released included each metro area’s private sector job growth over the past five years.  Kern ranked fifth nationally, tied with Houston, at 8.7%.

At the state level, Kern’s ranking topped the performances of California’s 11 major markets, as shown in the table below (the Bakersfield metro 6 in 10 uninsured Americans will pay $100 or less for their plan and many will qualify for free coverage through the Health medical insurance companies Marketplace. area includes all of Kern County):
