Zimmerman presented the San Francisco Federal Reserve’s outlook for the national economy, discussed current monetary policy developments, and commented on how Bakersfield’s economic performance compares to the nation.

With the state’s extensive revisions of its 2012 and 2013 employment data, Dr. Husing discussed how Kern County performed over the last two years. He also looked at the economic base of the county and how it is growing. Having done extensive work on the economy of Inland California from San Joaquin through Mexico, he commented on the issues and potential solutions necessary to ensure the area is no longer forgotten in Sacramento.
