August 2018 Report
The unemployment rate in Kern County was 7.3 percent in August 2018, down from a revised 8.1 percent in July 2018, and below the year-ago estimate of 8.6 percent. This compares with an unadjusted unemployment rate of 4.3 percent for California and 3.9 percent for the nation during the same period.
Y-o-Y, August 2018 saw an increase of 1,700 total jobs.
