April 2018 Report

According to the Employment Development Department, the unemployment rate for April 2018 in Kern County was 8.3 percent, down from a revised 9.6 percent in March 2018, and below the year-ago estimate of 9.9 percent. This compares with an unadjusted unemployment rate of 3.8 percent for California and 3.7 percent for the nation during the same period.

Y-o-Y, April 2018 saw an increase of 3,200 total jobs.
