April 2019 Report
The unemployment rate in Kern County was 8.4 percent in April 2019, down from a revised 10.0 percent in March 2019, and below the year-ago estimate of 8.6 percent. This compares with an unadjusted unemployment rate of 3.9 percent for California and 3.3 percent for the nation during the same period.
Y-o-Y, March 2019 saw an increase of 12,400 total jobs.
