Bakersfield Ranked No. 8 in the Nation for Lowest House Vacancy Rates

Buffalo Business First conducted a study using data from the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2016 American Community Survey to determine which large cities in the U.S. had the lowest house vacancy rates in the nation, Bakersfield being the 8th lowest at a vacancy rate of 3.4 percent.  These results are an outcome of high demand and low supply of housing in the Bakersfield area, making the average price of a home reach up to about $250,000.  Although a low house vacancy might not be great news for potential homebuyers, it could be a benefit for property owners.
